ABAVAS Winery is a company established and developed by Martiš and Liene Barkans that produces quality beverages from Latvia-grown fruit and berries.
Abavas Winery was founded in 2010 and, in a comparatively short period of time, became the leading winery in Latvia, while beverages have earned critical acclaim in Latvia and beyond.
The owners of the winery have also planted a 3.5h vineyard at Sabile that has been growing larger with every passing year. The vineyard features a broad collection of grape varieties that are harvested each year to make limited quantities of Latvia-made wine. Abavas owners also grow apples, rhubarbs and various berries. Abavas Winery is located at Slampe, not far from the upper reaches of the River Abava where, thanks to successful implementation of several European projects, we have developed a modern wine production business. The winery is especially pleased with organic apple orchard, where old apple varieties are growing that give excellent source material for the production of beverages.
