Cinema Splendid Palace
From the very first, “Splendid Palace” delighted it’s visitors with an excellent film program, demonstrating award-winning films from international film festivals and films that has been earned worldwide fame. Cinema “Splendid Palace” is a place where you can see Latvian film premieres, national and international film festivals, performances, concerts, and enjoy opera and ballet live transmissions from the world famous opera houses and festivals.
With its neo-baroque facade and neo-Rococo style interior, “Splendid Palace” has delighted and fascinated every visitor.
One of the aims for Splendid Palace, is to promote good cinema accessibility for residents and visitors of Riga. To fulfill this aim, cinema are collaborating with the National Cinema Centre, Latvian Filmmakers Union, Latvian film festivals (National Film Festival “Lielais Kristaps”, Riga International Film festival, Festival “Baltic Pearl” etc.), foreign embassies and cultural centers.
Since 1994 cinema “Splendid Palace” has been a member of European film network “Europa Cinemas” and since 2007 – member of international art-house cinema association “Art Cinema” CICAE.
Unique culture centre with splendid neobaroque halls will be the right place for your red carpet event. Spacious premises, arranged in a bright interior, are suitable for conferences, corporate events, graduation events, shows and theatre performances with a possibility to host up to 700 guests at a time.
The large hall with its gorgeous and festive interior creates an impressive atmosphere for any event. This place has hosted wedding ceremonies and extreme sports presentations. Beloved comedians and musicians have given performances, as well as famous thinkers have delivered their lectures. The hall with a capacity to host 566 people has been recognised as the most elegant high-level conference venue in Riga and, therefore, repeatedly has been the stage for TEDx and other high-level conferences.
The Small hall of the cinema is popular for small-format seminars, presentations and meetings. The hall of Versailles and the Green hall are ideal for organising press conferences, small receptions and standing banquets.
